Get lost in The Forest of Doom!

I was a fan of the series as a kid and especially loved The Forest of Doom. My paper copy is halfway around the world, so Im really happy Tin Man Games has so faithfully reproduced this and other Fighting Fantasy Gamebooks in app form. Its so great to relive such a pleasant part of my childhood and be able to share it with others in this high tech age.

The app runs smoothly on my iPad 3 and offers all the fun of the paper version. The colors and background music add to the atmosphere, while the automatic fighting system makes it easy to read on the go. I really appreciate the fact that I cannot finish the book by cheating. In fact, this is the first time I got to the end of the book honestly.

I think kids accustomed to video games will appreciate experiencing this book in app form. Parents should appreciate these apps as a tricky way to get their kids to read.

I really enjoyed reading background information on the book and the origins of Fighting Fantasy. I think future editions would do well to include as many such extras as possible.
